Thesis Topic: Intuitive Control of Franka Robotic Arm Using Hand Gesture
Designed and implemented a gesture-based control system for the Franka Emika Panda robotic arm, enabling intuitive human-robot interaction for complex manipulation tasks. The system interprets hand gestures to control robot motion and gripper functionality in real-time.
Implementation Highlights:
- Developed a gesture recognition system using simulated EMG input for gesture classification.
- Created a custom MuJoCo-based simulation pipeline integrated within iM Blocks using C# and Python.
- Implemented a gesture-based UX menu to select control modes: Cartesian movement or gripper control.
- Mapped gestures to robot joint velocities and Cartesian-space commands using inverse kinematics and Jacobian-based control.
- Executed tasks like peg-in-hole, screwing, and object insertion using a multi-stage gesture flow.

Thesis Title: Design and Implementation of Non-Contact Ballistocardiogram Signal Measurement in Bed and Disease Detection from BCG Signal
Thesis Grade: 1.0
Abstract: Heart’s valvular disease is one of the major concerns in modern healthcare. While ECG is the standard method for cardiac monitoring, its invasive nature can be uncomfortable for long-term use. This research proposed a non-invasive approach for detecting cardiac performance using Ballistocardiogram (BCG) signals captured through a piezoelectric sensor array embedded in a bed. The device captures the ballistic forces of the heart and compares them with conventional ECG results.
BCG data were collected from two local hospitals, maintaining all ethical guidelines. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers were used to analyze and detect valvular diseases — particularly Mitral Valve Stenosis and Pulmonary Valve Stenosis. The model's performance was evaluated based on overall accuracy, misclassification rate, and fitness. Results show promising potential for comfortable and continuous heart monitoring using non-contact methods.
