Social Robotics Flask Python Pandas UI/UX HRI

Project: Acceptance Model Generator for Human–Robot Interaction

Funded by the Bavarian Research Foundation (Bayerische Forschungsstiftung)

Responsibilities:

  • Conducted literature research in social robotics, focusing on acceptance factors in human–robot interaction.
  • Reviewed and synthesized insights from approximately 200 papers and taxonomies covering trust, usability, autonomy, safety, and robot acceptance.
  • Built a web-based acceptance-model generator based on the Onnasch et al. taxonomy.
  • Implemented backend logic using Flask and Python with a structured multi-page interface in HTML and CSS.
  • Mapped user inputs such as robot type, autonomy level, task context, and team structure to relevant psychological constructs.
  • Used Pandas and Excel-based backend data integration for structured model generation.
  • Added bilingual English and German interfaces and styling aligned with the research project identity.
  • Collaborated with researchers to validate the model and prepare it for behavioral experiments.
